The Union board is the executive organ of Göta studentkår and the deputy of the Representative Assembly. The union board contains of the kårledning and section chair for each section. The Union boards main tasks are to plan, coordinate and manage the student union's activities. The students’ union Göta studentkår is a non-profit organization based on membership and voluntary commitment. As a member you are free to choose your own level of commitment. The student movement in Gothenburg dates back to the late 19th century. Gothenburg University was founded in 1891, the same year as the first student association at Gothenburg University was formed. In 1907, the student union became the University of Gothenburg Student Union and is a direct model for what is today Göta studentkår.
